Central Railway to Run Special Trains for IAF Marathon 2026

To facilitate participants attending the Sekhon Indian Airforce Marathon 2026,  Central Railway has announced two special midnight suburban train services. These special trains will run on the intervening night of October 3/4, 2026  (Saturday/Sunday midnight),  connecting major routes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).

The marathon is organized in memory of the Indian Airforce Flying Officer,  Late Shri Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. Commuters and participants can leverage these late-night services for hassle-free travel.

  • Halt Policy:  Both marathon special trains will halt at all enroute stations  on the Main and Harbour lines respectively,  ensuring maximum accessibility for participants.
  • Main Line Departure:  The Kalyan-CSMT service departs Kalyan at 02:30 hrs  and is scheduled to reach CSMT at 04:00 hrs.
  • Harbour Line Departure:  The Panvel-CSMT service departs Panvel at 02:40 hrs  and is scheduled to reach CSMT at 04:00 hrs.
  • Date of Operation:  Services are operational exclusively during the midnight of October 3rd and 4th, 2026.

Central Railway  has announced the introduction of 16 additional festival special trains  to cater to the heavy passenger demand between LTT Mumbai ,  Varanasi , and Sultanpur  for the upcoming festive season.
