Sealdah-Krishnanagar EMU Train Extensions for Festive Season 2026

Eastern Railway has announced the continuation of the extension of EMU local train services in the Sealdah – Ranaghat – Krishnanagar section. These extended services will remain operational from September 1, 2026, to November 30, 2026, to facilitate hassle-free travel for daily passengers during the festive autumn season. Additionally, temporary halts for specific AC EMU trains have also been extended on an experimental basis.

Route Halts, Timings, or Alternate Arrangements

  • The 31638/31637 Ranaghat – Sealdah – Ranaghat AC EMU local services will continue to halt temporarily at Simurali, Halisahar, and Ichhapur stations.
  • These experimental stoppages are applicable in both directions and have been extended up to September 30, 2026. 
  • Commuters are advised to note these extensions and plan their daily transit accordingly to avoid last-minute hassles.

Central Railway Announces 50 Special Train Services for Diwali 2026

Central Railway  has announced the introduction of 16 additional festival special trains  to cater to the heavy passenger demand between LTT Mumbai ,  Varanasi , and Sultanpur  for the upcoming festive season.
