New Mumbai-Sawantwadi Daily Express Train Launched (2026)

The Ministry of Railways has announced the introduction of a new daily regular service, Train No. 15087 / 15088 Mumbai CSMT - Sawantwadi Road - Mumbai CSMT Express, commencing from September 8, 2026. Operated under the Konkan Railway network, this service will run with distinct monsoon and non-monsoon schedules to offer seamless connectivity for passengers traveling between Mumbai and the Konkan region.

    • Train No. 15087 will depart Mumbai CSMT at 23:55 hrs and arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 13:50 hrs the following day.
    • Train No. 15088 will depart Sawantwadi Road at 17:00 hrs and arrive at Mumbai CSMT at 06:40 hrs the next day.
  • Non-Monsoon Timings (effective 21/10/2026): 
    • Train No. 15087 will depart Mumbai CSMT at 23:55 hrs and reach Sawantwadi Road at 14:15 hrs the next day.
    • Train No. 15088 will depart Sawantwadi Road at 17:20 hrs and arrive at Mumbai CSMT at 06:40 hrs the next day.

  • LHB Coach Composition: Total 23 LHB coaches consisting of 01 First Class, 02 AC 2-Tier, 03 AC 3-Tier, 05 AC 3-Tier Economy, 04 Sleeper, 04 General Class, 01 Pantry Car, 01 Parcel Van, 01 SLR/D, and 01 Generator Car.
  • Booking Details: 
    • Bookings for the inaugural run of Train No. 15088 on 09/09/2026 open on 08/09/2026 at 08:00 hrs.
    • For journeys starting from 10/09/2026 onwards, booking opens on 09/09/2026 at 08:00 hrs at all PRS counters, official websites, and IRCTC.

Central Railway Announces 50 Special Train Services for Diwali 2026

Central Railway  has announced the introduction of 16 additional festival special trains  to cater to the heavy passenger demand between LTT Mumbai ,  Varanasi , and Sultanpur  for the upcoming festive season.
