Eastern Railway to Run 10 Special Trains to Meet Festive Season Rush

Kolkata: In view of the expected surge in passenger demand during the upcoming Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath festivals, Eastern Railway has announced plans to operate 10 special trains on various routes. The services will connect major destinations across West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh during the festive season.

The special trains will operate between October and November 2026, with most services scheduled for seven trips. The trains will offer General Second Class, Sleeper Class and Air-conditioned accommodation.

Howrah–Raxaul Puja Specials

Train No. 03041 Howrah–Raxaul Puja Special will depart Howrah at 11:00 pm every Thursday from October 15 to November 26, 2026, making seven trips. It will arrive at Raxaul at 4:15 pm the following day.

Its return service, Train No. 03042 Raxaul–Howrah Puja Special, will depart Raxaul at 5:45 pm every Friday from October 16 to November 27 and reach Howrah at 12:15 pm the next day.

A second pair of services will also operate on Saturdays and Sundays. Train No. 03043 Howrah–Raxaul Puja Special will leave Howrah at 11:00 pm every Saturday from October 17 to November 28, reaching Raxaul at 4:15 pm the next day. Train No. 03044 Raxaul–Howrah Puja Special will depart Raxaul at 5:45 pm every Sunday from October 18 to November 29 and reach Howrah at 12:15 pm the following day.

Both pairs of trains will stop at Bandel, Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih in both directions.

Sealdah–Patna Puja Special

Train No. 03135 Sealdah–Patna Puja Special will operate every Tuesday from October 13 to November 24, 2026. It will depart Sealdah at 12:20 am and reach Patna at 3:00 pm the same day.

The return service, Train No. 03136 Patna–Sealdah Puja Special, will leave Patna at 4:30 pm every Tuesday and arrive at Sealdah at 7:30 am the following day.

The train will halt at Naihati, Bandel, Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih in both directions.

Sealdah–Sitamarhi Puja Special

Train No. 03133 Sealdah–Sitamarhi Puja Special will run every Friday from October 16 to November 27. It will depart Sealdah at 11:40 pm and reach Sitamarhi at 3:30 pm the next day.

Train No. 03134 Sitamarhi–Sealdah Puja Special will operate every Saturday from October 17 to November 28, departing Sitamarhi at 5:00 pm and reaching Sealdah at 12:25 pm the following day.

The service will halt at Naihati, Bandel, Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih in both directions.

Sealdah–Gorakhpur Puja Special

Train No. 03131 Sealdah–Gorakhpur Puja Special will operate every Tuesday and Thursday from October 13 to November 26, with 14 trips. It will depart Sealdah at 11:40 pm and reach Gorakhpur at 6:15 pm the following day.

The return service, Train No. 03132 Gorakhpur–Sealdah Puja Special, will leave Gorakhpur at 8:35 pm every Wednesday and Friday from October 14 to November 27 and reach Sealdah at 3:40 pm the next day.

The train will stop at Naihati, Bandel, Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih.

Kolkata–Madhubani Puja Specials

Train No. 03185 Kolkata–Madhubani Puja Special will run every Tuesday from October 13 to November 24. It will leave Kolkata at 11:50 pm and reach Madhubani at 3:30 pm the following day.

The return service, Train No. 03186 Madhubani–Kolkata Puja Special, will depart Madhubani at 4:55 pm every Wednesday from October 14 to November 25 and reach Kolkata at 12:45 pm the next day.

Another pair, Train No. 03187 Kolkata–Madhubani Puja Special and Train No. 03188 Madhubani–Kolkata Puja Special, will operate on Fridays and Saturdays, respectively, during the same period.

Both services will halt at Naihati, Bandel, Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih in both directions.

Asansol–Patna Puja Special

Train No. 03511 Asansol–Patna Puja Special will run every Sunday from October 18 to November 29. It will depart Asansol at 1:20 pm and reach Patna at 8:15 pm the same day.

The return service, Train No. 03512 Patna–Asansol Puja Special, will leave Patna at 9:55 pm every Sunday and arrive at Asansol at 4:50 am the following day.

The train will stop at Chittaranjan, Jamtara, Madhupur and Jasidih in both directions.

Asansol–Gorakhpur Puja Special

Train No. 03527 Asansol–Gorakhpur Puja Special will operate every Friday from October 16 to November 27, making seven trips. It will leave Asansol at 1:20 pm and reach Gorakhpur at 3:30 am the next day.

Train No. 03528 Gorakhpur–Asansol Puja Special will run every Saturday from October 17 to November 28, departing Gorakhpur at 6:00 am and reaching Asansol at 8:45 pm the same day.

The train will halt at Chittaranjan, Jamtara, Madhupur and Jasidih in both directions.

Malda Town–Digha Puja Special

Train No. 03465 Malda Town–Digha Puja Special will operate every Saturday from October 17 to November 28. It will depart Malda Town at 1:10 pm and reach Digha at 11:00 pm the same day.

The return service, Train No. 03466 Digha–Malda Town Puja Special, will leave Digha at 11:40 pm every Sunday from October 18 to November 29 and arrive at Malda Town at 9:20 am the next day.

The service will stop at New Farakka, Pakur, Rampurhat, Sainthia, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Barddhaman and Dankuni in both directions.
